  • Business Development - Sales or Marketing?

What is the definition of business development? Do you know? Business development is a quasi sale and marketing role. You build relationships necessary to do business and the process by which you identify, meet and communicate with the prospect that ultimately makes them become a client.

  • Communicating Differently

In the last 6 months I’ve learned tremendous things about the way I communicate, the language I use and the energy I put on things. I’ve learned that the way I think about something impacts the results I get. Pretty easy concept, right? Not so easy. It’s a very simple concept. There’s a difference.

  • Creating Time

It's true; no one multitasks like a busy woman. And instead of actually doing something to reverse the damage that is done from this hyper-superb-quality, we generally power through it. We complain occasionally. We break down, get back up, and repeat. And we’re always growing. And with that, we tend to pile a little more on, well, because we’re good at it. There exists a moment that wakes some of us up from this cycle, and we navigate our course a bit to the left or right, whatever is needed. There also exists a moment where we can't recover and end up in a place we swore we could never handle, but somehow... we do.

  • Customer Service Always Starts With You

  • Fashion and Style Advice for Today's Woman in Business

Being Fashionable and Updated... It’s not brain surgery but it does require a little bit of work. No worries...you can do it! First of all, get on board with the concept. We all know people make judgments in a flash. If you look your best, your first impression will really count. Who wouldn’t want a head start? Second, commit to being flexible...just because you’ve done something one way for years doesn’t mean it works best for you.

  • Generational Power

I recently drafted a program description for a multigenerational workforce presentation. The client returned it with their desired modifications, something I invite my clients to do. As a Baby Boomer (born between 1946 and 1964), I didn’t want to promote much skill development in the short amount of time we would have together. However, the program was geared to mostly Gen Y (born between 1982 and 2000) and they would be more eager to come if there was a promise of acquiring behavior change.
