Yesterday the House of Ruth had their 10th anniversary Crabaret event at Gertrudes at the BMA. Once again – John Shields, celebrated author Chef and owner of Gertrude’s Restaurant and David Wells of the Wine Source came together to host a fantastic benefit for the House of Ruth.
The event, held in the BMA’s sculpture garden is one of the summer social season’s must do. This year’s event – presented by Care First was as fabulous as previous years past and as usual drew a fashionably dressed, diverse sell out crowd.
The House Of Ruth Maryland leads the fight to end violence against women and their children by confronting the attitudes, behaviors and systems that perpetuate it, and by providing victims with the services necessary to rebuild their lives safely and free of fear. House of Ruth Development Director Cheri Parlaman was recently a guest on MyCity4Her radio this past Monday July 9, 2012.

Attendees spotted included Ella Pritsker of The Maryland Academy of Couture Arts and Baltimore’s Mayor Stephanie Rawlings Blake spent a good time talking to committee members and attendees before having to move to the next event on her agenda. Whiteford Taylor & Preston LLP power attorney Deborah H. Diehl, Partner and Chair of Business Development for the firm was also present, along with Edie Brown, Downtown Diane and events maven and all around gadabout Heidi Klotzman of HeidNSeek her mother and Chairman Helene Miller, as well as many others.
