Baltimore Mediation Organizes Certificated 20-hour Mediation and Conflict Transformation Skills Training

Each year in October, Baltimore Mediation through Louise Phipps Senft, its Founder and Lead Trainer, organizes a 20-hour Basic Mediation and Conflict Transformation Skills Training, focusing on Systems Dynamics. The program is a very interactive course designed for public audiences comprised of professionals from all areas of focus such as attorneys, social workers and teachers, government personnel and business executives and others, to help them become familiar with mediation and quality dialogue skills.

Starting on Wednesday night, October 24th at 5pm, and stretching over the next two days, each day from 9 am to 5:30pm, the program will gather professional trainers, Louise Phipps Senft, and Dusty and Vicki Rhoades, as well as experienced coaches, to teach those interested in mediation, in basic skills for effectively transforming negative conflict to a constructive and quality process that preserves relationships and creates options for problem-solving.

Participants will have the chance to role-play real life conflict situation and get direct feedback from coaches. The certificate is nationally approved by the Association for Conflict Resolution and recognized by the Federal Shared Neutrals Program, and may satisfy the requirements of state entities such as the Maryland Circuit Courts, the MACRO Maryland Program for Mediator Excellence, and the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners. It may be used to apply for state circuit court rosters of approved mediators and for continuing education credits from the participant’s accrediting institution.

The training session will take place at the Radisson at Cross Keys, 5100 Falls Rd, Baltimore, MD 21210. Cost of the session is $795 per person which includes a manual and training materials.
