Baltimore Alive Wins 1st Place In ETC And EDAC’s “Technology Innovation Cup”

Congratulations are in order for woman-owned business Baltimore Alive as the company wins 1st place in this year’s Emerging Technology Centers and Entrepreneurial Development and Assistance Center‘s “Technology Innovation Cup.”

Baltimore Alive, started by women entrepreneur Shaunna Pickett, is an online advertising platform for the leisure, travel and tourism industry in Baltimore that provides businesses with a personalized webpage for each individual stakeholder and presents an opportunity for locals and visitors to be inspired to explore their options and see what Baltimore has to offer.

Coming in at second and third place were Excel Life and Morgan Techpreneurs respectively. All winners received cash prizes and six months of free incubation space and services at the Emerging Technology Center.

The Technology Innovation Cup (TIC) is a business plan competition providing the opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students at Morgan State University to learn every aspect of starting a business. The goals of the TIC business plan competition are to help student entrepreneurs learn how to form a qualified team, write a competitive and realistic business plan, and present their ideas in a concise and clear format and, ultimately, bring the technology to life.

“We are looking forward to helping these budding entrepreneurs bring their passions into reality,” Deborah Tillett, President and Executive Director of ETC, said in a statement. “Our goal is to surround them with right resources and programs to make them a viable part of Baltimore’s technology community.”
