Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Building for Annapolis Family in Need

Wes Fisher, husband of Kelly Fisher, owner of local Ruby Salon, will be participating in the local build for the next house on ABC’s hit television series, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. This episode will be a 2 hour special and should have about 10 million people watching in the US and over a billion worldwide.

The premise behind the show is that in no more than 106 hours, a family in need has their house completely torn down and then rebuilt from scratch. All labor is donated, many of the tools and resources are donated as well.

For those who want to help, there are many ways to offer support for this moving charitable deed. Recently, there was a kick-off donation party as well as a super successful pep rally to support the Extreme Makeover team’s effots.

The team is in need of volunteers for things like serving food, clean up, moving materials, and more as well as donations of materials and skilled workers like framers, siding contractors, painters, etc. If you can’t volunteer, but still want to help out, you can make a monetary donation to help cover anything that isn’t being donated.

Tonight (Monday, September 26th), there will be a Monday Night Football Party fundraiser event at the Ram’s Head on West Street in Annapolis to help raise funds and awareness for the Makeover.

The build starts in just a few days and lasts approximately one week, so be sure to offer to volunteer or donate before time runs out.
