Local Actress and Playwright to Star in Production of “R U 4 Real?”

The Theatre Project in Downtown Baltimore is proud to present local actress Susan Mele her original show, R U 4 Real? for four performances in January. R U 4 Real? is one of several original productions written and performed by Susan Mele.

“The show is going to be based on reality TV in America and how it’s what people crave in their lives. Why do so many people crave reality TV?  Because it’s like watching a train wreck. It’s awful, terribly stupid and mildy entertaining but people love it!,” says Mele.

Much of the show will be improvised, with Mele taking on a variety of imaginative personas on stage including a reality TV diva named Roxi Starr. A cameraman will be filming the show so audience members can see not only what goes on onstage, but also the drama that unfolds behind the scenes backstage.

Tickets are $25 general admission and $15 for students, military, and seniors. Performances are held at 8 p.m. on January 14, 15, and 22. A special performance will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, January 21 with proceeds to benefit The Theatre Project. Tickets for this special performance are $50. They can be purchased at http://www.theatreproject.org/gettickets.html or by calling 410-752-8558. The Theatre Project is located at 45 W. Preston Street Baltimore, MD.
