Munchie Monday – Where to Go for Valentine’s Day

By Assistant Editor Shayna Spiker

Valentine’s Day is a little more than a week away – do you have plans with your sweetheart yet? If not, here are some great places to have a delectable, romantic dinner:

Café Gia – Italian food is great for a romantic dinner. It’s warm and wholesome, it’s one of the ultimate comfort foods! Now, spaghetti may not be the best date-night food since it can be messy to eat, but there are many other scrumptious options to choose from like the Veal Piccata da Zio Ciccio – scaloppini of veal sautéed with a white wine and lemon, butter sauce with capers, served with Italian potatoes and comes with the vegetable of the day; or the decadent Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli topped with butter and sage and a dollop of tomato coulis. Pair your dinner with a wine from the restaurant’s extensive wine list.

Feast at 4 East – Check out the elegant and cozy atmosphere of this Baltimore staple. You can dine with a view of their beautiful garden terrace. Sip some wine, enjoy mouth-watering French-Mediterranean cuisine made from seasonal meats and produce from local farms. And, if you’re so inclined, you can even spend the night at the 4 East Madison Inn after dinner with your sweetie.

Morton’s The Steakhouse – If steak is more your thing, Morton’s is the place to go. Steak is what they do, and boy do they do it well! All their steaks are good, but I personally love the Filet Mignon myself. If you have a smaller stomach, try one of your favorites in a smaller portion on their “Slightly Smaller” Steak menu. Add mashed potatoes, a baked potato, sautéed spinach and mushrooms, or whatever other sides pique your interest. Finish your meal off with a decadent dessert and an after-dinner drink.

Foreman Wolf Valentine’s Specials – One of Baltimore’s favorite restaurateurs have some really great Valentine’s Day special prix fixe menus at their restaurants including: Pazo (410-534-7296), The Charleston (410-332-7373), Cinghiale (410-547-8282), and Petit Louis Bistro (410-366-9393). Call for more information on menus and pricing.

Whoever you spend your Valentine’s Day with – whether it is friends, family, or a spouse, may it be filled with love and joy.
