The Robert & Claire Peter Foundation is a Catonsville-based 501 (c) 3 organization that ships medical equipment and supplies to disabled children and adults in the United States and South Africa. Audrey and Martin Peter are native South Africans who relocated to Baltimore in 1991 to seek treatment at Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins for their children, Robert and Claire, who were struck by uncontrollable seizures and lost the ability to walk and talk. Robert died in 1999: amazingly, Claire celebrated her 22nd birthday on May 5, 2010.
