Second Annual Betascape September 23-25 in Baltimore

The second annual Betascape will be held in Baltimore, Maryland from September 23-25th, 2011 in the Station North Arts and Entertainment District of Baltimore City.

Betascape is a multi-day experience designed to bring artists and technologists together to Learn & Connect to Create. The goal of Betascape is to bringing artists and technologists together – reaching out to Artists who want to learn about technology and to Technologists who want to learn about art. It is free event open to those of all ages, interested in all things Art & Technology related.

Betascape seeks to encourage long-term economic growth in the region by raising awareness of the strength of Baltimore’s Art & Technology communities. The Station North Arts and Entertainment District was selected as the location for the 2011 event due to the area’s rich history of culture and the area’s current need to revitalize the drive for art & technology. Betascape aims to attract a new crowd of technologists and artist to drive greater economic development for Baltimore by exploring cutting edge and experimental technologies as well as keeping talented professionals in Baltimore and attracting new companies to the area.

The inaugural Betascape event launched the summer of 2010 at Artscape and showcased innovative technology through a multi – day series of demonstrations, exhibits, workshops, and social events focused on innovative, cutting edge, and experimental technology. Over 2000 people passed through the Betascape tent and participated in such events as a powertool drag racing, DIY rockets and local made games in the Betascape video arcade.

This year Betascape plans to expand this focus by adding events related to dance, music, culinary science and fashion, and how they relate to Technology.
