Upcoming Event: 7th Annual Walkabout Abilities on September 22, 2013

Enjoy a walk around the Goucher College campus while supporting Marylanders with disabilities at the Abilities Network’s 7th Annual Walkabout Abilities fundraiser. The event will take place rain or shine on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Goucher College (1021 Dulaney Valley Rd.) in Towson.

“The mission of Abilities Network is “‘to challenge the community to acknowledge the value and equality of people of all abilities,’” said Lee Ann Kingham, Abilities Network’s chief executive officer. “Walkabout Abilities is our signature event that provides individuals the opportunity to raise much needed funds for the statewide services that support our mission.”

On-site registration starts at 8:30 a.m. Following welcome remarks and warm-up exercises, the 2-mile walk around the campus will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Post-walk at the Dorsey College Center, participants can sample refreshments including Baskin & Robbins ice cream sundaes, courtesy of The Coleman Family. They also can enjoy live music from DJ Entertainment, face painting, art activities and a moonbounce.

Registration includes event admission, as well as a Walkabout Abilities T-shirt, refreshments, activities and entertainment for all ages. The cost is $15 for ages 12 and up and $10 for children under 12. Admission is free for kids 3 and under.
