Women Veterans Interactive is getting ready to host the 3rd Annual Women Veterans & Women in the Military Veterans Day Extravaganza. The non-profit organization is dedicated to helping women veterans and their families in countless different ways. Women Veterans Interactive helps find homes for homeless woman who are veterans, improve their healthcare, as well as educating and empowering these veterans nationwide. Operation Veteran Empowerment, an online resource for veterans’ education in business, is supporting The National Resource Society for Women Veterans in putting on this three-day event.
The extravaganza kicks-off on Sunday, November 9th at the National Harbor with cocktails and h’orderves hosted by Women Veterans Interactive CEO, Ginger Miller. Over the three days, there will be several celebrity keynote speakers, as well as a masquerade ball hosted by Derek ‘Fonzworth Bentley’ Watkins to finish off the “Celebration of Women in the Military”.
Attendees can expect to learn about women veterans and military life for women, as well as being entertained and inspired by the speakers and hosts. There will be many opportunities to network, and even get a free makeover by The CELEBRITY Glam Squad. The Women Veterans & Women in the Military Veterans Day Extravaganza is a great time to celebrate these brave women veterans and women in the military.
With October being Small Business Awareness Month as well as a time to recognize women veterans, this event is a great chance to take some time to celebrate and really think about woman and business, especial women veterans. However, these women that are going to be celebrated next Sunday deserve to be applauded more often than just a few days out of the year. Military life for women is an issue that we should all be aware of and support throughout the entire year. Just like a woman’s experience within a small business, a woman in the military may feel oppressed because of her gender. As women, we all share similar struggles that we should support and encourage each other through. This event is an important time for everyone to recognize that the issues women face in the military, or as a veteran, are issues for every woman. A women veteran without a home, proper healthcare, or representation in government is a women’s issue. Together, we should try to recognize and encourage the celebration and awareness of these women veterans.
I expect this event to be a chance to show how much we appreciate women in the military and women veterans all year long, as well as an interesting and exciting experience for all.
