Go Red Celebrates 10 years of education and heart disease prevention in women.
Did you know…
Heart disease kills more women than men?
There’s a lot of talk about inequality between men and women, but one area in particular where women are leading in record numbers: heart disease. It’s the No. 1 killer of women and is more deadly than all forms of cancer. But there’s a leadership role just waiting for women like you to pounce on: Leading the charge to end this deadly foe once and for all.
Did you know it is highly preventable?
The Heart Association’s Go Red web site has tons of resources, information and neat ways to help you get informed and reduce your risk. One of our favorite area’s is the “Women’s Heart Disease Prevention Check List“.
It explains the benefits and necessity of such things as important as:
- Choosing a Healthy Lifestyle
- Knowing your Fats
- How to Cook “Heart Healthy”
and other useful things to protect your heart health and get you on the long term path to heart wellness.
The site also encourages you to “Take the Heart Check Up“, as well as provides a link for professionals to an informative CV Risk Calculator Tool.
This informative video speaks to what it means to “Go Red” and also shares more information that will be useful to any woman concerned about her heart wellness.
Go Red initiatives and events are taking place all around the country. To find out what’s going on in your region click here. To connect with other women that are heart health conscious check out the Go Red Meetup page by clicking here.
