4/30/2013 – Network 2000 – MaryAnn Scully, CEO of Howard Bank to Moderate Informative Panel

Pipeline to C SuiteLast year, we were pleased to provide our audience with a recap of the 2012 Network 2000 Census report on the state of women on corporate boards in Maryland (to read click here), this year we are honored to sponsor an event that will announce the reports findings but also promote an interactive discussion on creating a meaningful pipeline to the board room for women.

Network 2000, which promotes the advancement of women in professional and executive roles, and the Greater Baltimore Committee will present “Building the Pipeline: to the C-Suite and the Boardroom” symposium and breakfast. The event will take place Tuesday, April 30, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at The Center Club at 100 Light Street in Baltimore.

Mary Ann Scully, chairman, president and CEO of Howard Bank, will moderate a panel on best practices for creating and promoting diversity in the C-suite and the boardroom. In addition, the panel will offer suggestions on increasing one’s own readiness for board positions and tips on gaining access to board opportunities.

Panelists include:

  • Andrew M. Bertamini, executive vice president and Maryland region president of Wells Fargo and Co.
  • Ellen M. Lord, president and CEO of Textron Systems Corp.
  • Alan D. Wilson, chairman, president and CEO of McCormick & Co. Inc.

In addition to the panel, Network 2000 will present its annual “Census of Women Board Directors in Maryland” report and the 2013 Business 2000 Award recognizing a company with a strong corporate presence in Maryland that most clearly demonstrates a commitment to women’s leadership throughout its organization.
