Join the Coalition of Geriatric Services (COGS) on Friday, November 4th, 2011, at the 6th Annual Fall Fest Fundraiser! The event is scheduled to take place at the Elkridge Furnace Inn, 5745 Furnace Ave., Elkridge, MD 21075 from 6 p.m.- 10 p.m. This fun-filled night will include dinner, beer and wine and music by Frank & Trish Curreri. Guests attending the event can enter to win a 7 Day Holland America Cruise for 2 to the Caribbean or Mexico. Cruise Raffle Tickets are available for $10 each or 12 Tickets for $100. The night will also feature a fabulous Silent Auction, Money Wheel, Games and more!
Tickets can be purchased online and are available for $65 per person. Sponsorship opportunities are available for those organizations looking to be front and center with exposure to over 150 attendees. All proceeds benefit the Howard County Office on Aging’s Vivian Reid Community Fund and Neighbor Ride.
ABOUT THE VIVIAN REID COMMUNITY FUND:
The Vivian Reid Community Fund provides emergency financial assistance to older adults in Howard County whose needs cannot be met by public funds. The fund began with an initial donation from Vivian Reid, a former administrator of the Howard County Office on Aging, and continues today thanks to generous donations from the local community.
ABOUT NEIGHBOR RIDE:
Neighbor Ride is a volunteer-based, non-profit that has been providing door-to-door transportation for Howard County residents, age 60 and over, since 2004. Transportation to destinations within a 900 square mile area is coordinated by a team of 16 volunteer Ride Coordinators and provided by over 240 volunteer drivers, utilizing their personal vehicles. Neighbor Ride has registered nearly 1,200 passengers and provided over 30,000 trips for medical appointments, religious services, and other day-today needs. The demand for Neighbor Ride’s service is growingly sharply. As a result, the organization is experiencing a 33% year-over-year growth in rides provided –an average of 750 trips per month.
