Girl Scouts Presents the Leadership Forum on March 9

Four local women authors will share the stories behind their books at Girl Scouts of Central Maryland’s 5th annual Women’s Leadership Forum, Wednesday, March 9, 2011, from 5 pm – 8:15 pm at the Maryland Women’s Heritage Center. Themed after Girl Scouts new Journey handbook series, “It’s Your Story –Tell It,” each author will share how they developed the stories they were compelled to write.  Cost for adults is $25; students are asked to bring 2 canned food items in support of Girl Scouts’ Harvest for the Hungry campaign.

Elizabeth Chandler (pseudonym for Mary Claire Helldorfer), Kissed by an Angel and Dark Secrets series; Ginny Gong, From Ironing Board to Corporate Board; Jerdine Nolen, Raising Dragons, Harvey Potter’s Balloon Farm and Eliza’s Freedom Road: An Underground Railroad Diary; and Mia Redrick, Time for mom-Me: 5 Essential Strategies for a Mother’s Self-Care, will share the inspiration behind their literary works via an interactive discussion and Q&A.

The Women’s Leadership Forum is an annual program that provides an opportunity for teen-age girls, college students and women to come together to discuss challenges and triumphs from a variety of career and community perspectives.
