The Brewer’s Association of Maryland is proudly hosting the 11th Anniversary of Maryland Brewer’s Oktoberfest at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium on October 13, 2012! This lively festival will include beer gardens featuring over 120 beers from twenty-two local Maryland breweries, delicious German foods, live bands, exciting contests, Oompah bands and much more.
Attendees will be entertained by contests, dancing, and musical performances on two stages. The main stage will consist of local acts such as Philip Bray, Uncle Hamish and the Hooligans, and the Texas Chainsaw Horns as well as the Home Brew Competition and all contests including Miss Oktoberfest Contest, Baltimore’s Best Beer Belly Competition and the Wife Carrying Contest. The Oompah Stage will feature Baltimore’s finest German musicians – the Edelweiss Band.
Festival attendees can enjoy munching on classic German and Oktoberfest treats like Bratwursts, Sausages, Sauerkraut, Sour Beef, Schnitzel, Potato Pancakes, Pretzels and other staples. The 120 beers will be supplied by the greatest microbrews in Maryland including Heavy Seas Brewery, Brewers Alley, Barley & Hops Grill & Microbrewery, The Brewer’s Art, Ellicott Mills Brewing Company and more.
