United Way of New York City to Honor Women Working to Make a Difference in NYC at Awards Luncheon

On April 3, 2012 United Way of New York City’s Women’s Leadership Council will host its 6th annual awards luncheon honoring women who have made a significant impact in their communities through philanthropic giving, advocacy, and volunteerism. The Women’s Leadership Council is now celebrating its 10th anniversary and has raised more than $3 million in support of United Way of New York City’s youth empowerment initiatives.

WHAT:         The Sixth Annual “Power of Women to Make a Difference” Awards Luncheon recognizes the efforts of accomplished women leaders working to create sustainable change in our communities. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Women’s Leadership Council Fund, which supports United Way initiatives that improve the lives of New York City’s young people in areas including: improving the quality of early education, boosting on-time graduation rates and helping young people make a successful transition to adulthood.
